Thankful: Day 21

I am thankful for the Little Blessings playgroup at our church.  It is really nice to connect with the other moms each week and give our kids some time to play with each other.

(this is an impromptu game of Simon Says)

Thankful: Day 20

I am thankful that my little girl, when she decided to start a business, was willing to create a business plan (with lots of my help) to see how everything would really work.  We had fun putting it together and scheming for her business.  Production starts this weekend- wish her luck!

Thankful: Day 19

I am thankful for this sick day (her, not him).  Normally having all three kids home all day means chaos and lots of upset kids.  Today has been shockingly calm and I've actually gotten some things done.  Hope she feels better soon.

Thankful: Day 18

I am thankful for yoga.

Thankful: Day 17

I am thankful for "Mo-oom! How do you spell....?"  It is so fun to see his interest in letters and the ways of writing blossom!

Thankful: Day 16

I am thankful for a clean room, like to the depths of the closets clean.  I'm also thankful for the stars aligning so that I could finally tackle this project, especially for my parents who took the kids for several hours!

Thankful: Day 15

I am thankful for play dates (for moms and kids alike!)

Thankful: Day 14

I'm thankful for my mom.  Today she took Peter to run errands with her.  I got a truly quiet nap time and he got to have fun with her.  Her came home with this entertaining sticker gingerbread man kiy.  The holidays are on their way and that certainly can't be missed when out running errands!

Thankful: Day 13

I am thankful for breaks of sunshine on November days, kids letting loose at the park, and fitting in play time with old friends after school.

Thankful: Day 12

I am thankful for fall yard work.  Yesterday afternoon the rain broke and we got a window of sunshine...perfect for the only yard work we'll get done all fall.  Lance mowed and Ephraim raked.  The most important thing is that with having mowed the lawn in November we won't have blades of grass peeking through snow (should we be lucky enough to get some this year).  Is it just me who has issues with grass ruining the beautiful blanket of snow? Anyone?

(Yes, I totally opened the window to take this photo- I was at my desk working!)

Thankful: Day 11

I am thankful for this completed task!  I've been planning a window valance for this room for the entire seven years we have lived here.  This weekend, it is finally done and up.  Not only that, but my parents helped us to re-do the kitchen this summer (freshly painted cabinets, new linoleum, new rugs) and Lance (along with our friend Trevor) built this amazing bench with backpack cubbies and shoe racks and the coat hooks- finally the clutter by the door is contained!  Anyhow, the valance was the final piece of that whole "re-do" as well.  Yay for completion, it feels so good to work in this room!

Thankful: Day 9

Day 9

I am thankful that I live here.  Where I can take my kids to the beach on a beautiful November afternoon and they can frolic in the crisp autumn air.  Would you look at the beauty?  So grateful.

Thankful: Day 8

I'm so thankful for my son's preschool.  A truly great place to discover a love of learning.  Kind teachers, developmentally appropriate curriculum, and lots of fun.  I'm also thankful that my nephew is attending there this year.  Sometimes I get to take him to school and that means I see him more!

Thankful: Day 7

I'm thankful for this little comedian.  Even though he doesn't talk much he still likes to tell jokes.  One of his favorites: he puts two pacifiers in his mouth and gives fake giggles until someone notices.  Once they notice he totally cracks up, cause- you know- there isn't anything much funnier than TWO pacifiers in ONE mouth!

Thankful: Day 6

Day 6

I am thankful for this little girl learning to read.  I didn't realize how fun it would be to watch her discover the joy of reading!

Thankful: 2013

Yesterday my daughter asked if I would please start writing a blog.  Which kinda cracks me up seeing as I no longer blog because I am so busy taking care of kids.  Anyway, I thought it might be fun to jump on the daily "Thankful" posts for the month of November.  Though I am going to do it in photo form.  So, five days late I'll start with:

Day 5

I am thankful for cardboard boxes!
